Effect of Light Intensity and Mist Interval on Rooting and Nursery Quality of Chrysanthermum (Dendranthema grandiflorum) Cuttings

Abstract
This study was conducted to confirm the methods for the production of high quality cuttings under non-shading condition by determined the effect of light intensity and mist interval on rooting and nursery quality of chrysanthemum cuttings. Rooting percentage reached up to 100% by 1-hr and 1.5-hr mist interval under non-shading condition. There was no difference in root growth, such as number of roots, root length, and root weight, and aerial part growth, such as number of leaves, shoot length, and fresh weight, between non-shading and 25% shading. But, the growth were depressed under 50% shading. All growth characteristics of cuttings enhanced with decreasing mist interval, while there was no difference between 1-hr and 1.5-hr mist interval under 25% shading, and root growth under 50% shading increased with increasing mist interval. As the results, frequent mist under high light intensity could enhanced nursery quality of chrysanthemum cuttings.
